For members aged 18 or over, a TFSA is a registered plan that allows your investments to grow tax-free. This means any interest or earnings gained on the money held in your TFSA are not taxed. Although this is a registered plan, contributions to your TFSA are not tax deductible as they are with RRSP contributions.

Investment tip

RRSPs and TFSAs are an effective way to help you achieve your financial goals. Equally important, you can contribute to both plans each year to maximize your tax savings. An RRSP helps you save for your retirement and allows you to defer your taxes, while a TFSA enables your investment to grow tax free.
